Beginner & intermediate tour
Who for? The first time climber and those who have climbed in an indoor gym once or twice but want to test their skills outside to those who really enjoy climbing and want to learn some new moves.
We head up to a crag situated on the western side of Sica Sica (that’s the mountain looking over Sucre which has a cross that lights up at night) where we have two walls next to each other. The slab which is the easier of the two walls has a mix of cracks, jugs and the occasional crimper (that’s a tiny little hold which will test your fingers and toes). The other face will have you scaling an overhang on every climb that ranges from “Oh yeah!” to “I can’t feel my fingers anymore”. The crags are approximately 20 to 25m high. With a stunning view of the city and surrounding mountains whilst enjoying the shade of the eucalyptus trees you couldn’t ask for a more picturesque location. (Tip: in the summer head down in the morning as this is west facing and can get pretty hot in the afternoon)
Range of grades:
Slab: 5.6 (USA) 4c (French) to 5.9 (USA) 5c (French)
Overhang: 5.8 (USA) 5b (French) to 5.11b (USA) 6c+ (French)

Our tours start by meeting by the lions at the Plaza 25 de Mayo (the main plaza in downtown Sucre) and looking for a guy with a ClimbSucre.com t-shirt. We can meet at another location e.g. your hostel if everyone on the tour is staying in the same location. From there we take a short taxi ride (10 mins.) followed by a 15 minute walk to the crag. The tour lasts around 4 hours depending on how many people there are, and ends by us catching a taxi back downtown. We generally start a morning tour at 8am or an afternoon tour at 2pm but we are flexible.
Bi-lingual guide (we are the only ones in Sucre)
Transport to and from the rocks
Climbing shoes and harness
A promise of a dang good time!
What should I bring?
A camera. You’ll need some evidence to prove to everyone back home that you actually did it! We are far better climbers than chefs so bring your own food and water! No need for a three course meal, just bring some healthy snacks and plenty of water. Wear loose fitting clothes i.e. shorts and t-shirt and a good pair of shoes as the terrain is rough. No skirts or flip flops (it’s happened…)
Price: Prices are per person and get cheaper the more people you get to join!
1 pax: 350Bs
2-3 pax: 200Bs
4+ pax: 150Bs
We take up to 6 people per guide so will take up to 12 people on this tour. To book simply call us on 786 69 637 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Don’t forget to request an official ClimbSucre.com chalkbag.
